Posts: 16865 (07/04/09 23:28:57) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None So basically a week from today I will be in France and i'll basically be flying for a total of 12 hours SO I want to make sure I have enough music on my ipod to entertain me! I plan on posting something similar to this on myspace or facebook or whatever, but i came here first because you guys all have such different tastes in music so I know I'll get a nice variety here! So basically reccomend me your favorite songs/artists. I don't care the genre I LITEREALLY listen to anything these days. Like I totally love Hip-Hop and R&B, but good old pop punk never fails...or even pop, or screamo...or icelandic indie pop....I don't care! If you like it, chances are I will like it too ALSO I keep hearing good things about Maxwell? Does anyone have his CD? I can't find it anywhere! They're AMAZING! http://www.myspace.com/thegraduate I finally saw them last night after years of listening to them. So good! Seriously. They played their Interlude and I could have watched it for 15 minutes and not complained. The singer played the guitar, tambourine, and drums. And at one point one of the guitarists, the singer, and drummer were all drumming. It's rare to see actual talent in bands anymore.. And actually, these guys opened for them and I was pleasantly surprised. They're different.. but like, good different. ALMOST like you kind of gotta be into funk a little. http://www.myspace.com/odis

If you haven't caught on to the Sing it Loud phase, they're a fun pop rock band. Take Cover is very similar to SIL, they're super fun, but kind of repetitive. I love them though! Gloria is another fun band. Webster's voice is kind of raspy, but I love that they know they're not an amazing band, but they have fun doing what they do. They're a great drunk band. City of Sound is a more experimental band, but I love their sound. Its almost creepy! Jamestown Story is the old drummer of SIL's solo project. Kieren from SIL used to play in it, but Dane just plays solo now. Its a poppy acoustic sound. I'm starting to kind of love it! To reinvent is my friend Ryan's band. They're kind of a mellow, hippyish sorty of band. I love them, so much. They're super chill. Wrestling with Wolves is my friend Danny's band. Its very midwest. He's amazing. If you're a Justin Pierre fan, he has a side project around here called Farewell Continental. He won't admit its him, and wears his hair completely different to try to disguise himself. I haven't heard them, but my buddy Tommy is in the band so I expect good, weird things. As for non-local... My favorite band right now is Oh, Sleeper. Solid guys, awesome music. I love it. Sky Eats Airplane they're kind of a bro band. If you check them out, go more towards their self titled...its so much better! Even though they have a new cd, I'm really digging the audition's Champion. Its super sexy! And of course, my girl Taylor Swift!!

I haven't heard them, but my buddy Tommy is in the band so I expect good, weird things. Motion City is pretty much my fave so I googled them. He sings on it, his voice is pretty easy to recognize... how is he gonna not admit to that?!? hahahaha. and also, he looks pretty greasy. <333PAWN

Haha. He was at a local show once, at a VERY small venue on the night that sing it loud was being looked at by epitaph and he wore a sweatshirt up and everything, and nobody went up to him...but to us kids who'd been seeing motion city for years, we knew right away. It was crazy!

Haven't really listened to either since I'm without a computer still. But I'm assuming both are worth you checking out. Ghost Mice. Krist (not kristina) introduced them to me. They're good. Not usually what I listen to, though. Sorta folky, I'd say. On that note, myspace Claire Danes. No, not the actress. Its a band from Rochester Krist was working with. Might as well up their plays, right? The Gay Blades. I have friends who love 'em. Standard of Living, paying special attention to "Autumn in Amherst". I think they have new stuff up on myspace, but once again, I haven't listened since I don't have a computer. I don't care who you are, you MUST have Avril's "Girlfriend" and SR-71's "Right Now" on any traveling playlist. Essentials, essentials. - RI! (its not just a state anymore.)
